The European Championships' center stage features continent-wide sensation players who have etched their names in the tournament's history books for all time. This year, the stakes are even higher in EURO 2020, as newcomers and seasoned pros compete to develop a great product. We pick the top three names from a slew of top-tier athletes in each position who will undoubtedly be on everyone's lips.
At first, it was the goalkeepers. As the most unforgiving position on the field, these glove men will be on the line to deflect any shots from the goal. All of these goalkeepers have established a name for themselves at the club, and now it is up to them to do the same for their country on one of the biggest platforms in football.

Euro cup 2020

1- Gianlugi Donarrumma

It was terrible to see Gianluigi Buffon cry as he announced his retirement from international football following Italy's loss from World Cup qualification, but his position between the posts was assured. Gianluigi Donarumma, another Gianluigi, came in to replace his shoes, or rather gloves. The amazing goalkeeper enjoyed a fantastic contract after leaving AC Milan as a free agent.

Donarumma's excellent performance in keeping clean sheets and making spectacular saves earned him the “Serie” A goalkeeper of the season award. Donarumma's mission in his first major international competition was to defend Italy's fort in their quest to regain top standards. Being a goalkeeper at the age of 22 is still terrifying, but this will be his moment to shine.

Euro cup 2020
Thibaut Courtois

2- Thibaut Courtois

Belgium has a plethora of improvising skills and seasoned game changers. Their technical play, on the other hand, will be backed up by a rock-solid backline and a seasoned goalie. Thibaut Courtois of Real Madrid has been tasked with quelling Belgium's long-standing quest for silverware. Courtois' job is to keep Kevin De Bruyne, Eden Hazard, and Romelu Lukaku from scoring goals. The 6'7" goalkeeper is the king of his domain, ready to confront any threat that threatens his territory. Having him in the team instill confidence in the others. His talent makes him a keeper for the ages, and he still has a few years left in him at the age of 29. He would be a strong chance to win the golden glove at the Euro 2020 this year after earning it at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

3- Hugo Lloris
